Static...

After the bricks were installed, we did not accomplish a lot this week. Hubby continued to install the electric cable and yesterday he started to cut the plasterboard (rigips).

Unfortunately, because of the changing weather, we all have flu. That means, I was not able to leave the kids and hubby is (as always), working alone on the building site.

I am keeping the faith that we will be able to do more work and we will be able to move-in to our house before the year ends.

Bricks Installation Day 5 (Klinker Montage Tag 5)

I went today in the building site to check on the bricklayers. Normal schedule is that they are going to continue and finish the brick laying today. They mentioned that they will be finished at 11 am. I brought coffee for them. I also put back some insulation materials on the walls and ceilings that hubby needs to take-off during the electric cables intallation. At around 11 am, they were really finished. They were just cleaning-up around and disabling the scaffolding. Before they left, the leader of the troop read and let us sign the documents stating that everything was delivered, properly installed, the building site was left clean and no major damages made on the building site/house. This is how our house looks like now...

Bricks Installation Day 4 (Klinker Montage Tag 4)

Weather : The streets are still wet from the rain yesterday, but as of this morning at around 10:15 am it did not rain at all.

Today the bricklayers will be driving back home (4 hrs drive from our place). The head of the troop mentioned that they are driving this afternoon. They will be back on Monday to finish the job.

Bricks Installation Day 3 (Klinker Montage Tag 3)

The weather is not so good because it is raining. It is not hard but still raindrops are falling on my head. The leader of the bricklayers troop mentioned that they will not be able to finish it this week, but probably on Monday. Hopefully the weather will not mess it up.

Bricks Installation Day 2 (Klinker Montage Tag 2)

The stress is getting more and more each day. I did not thought that bricks installation will be this stressful for me. It is the same like dealing with the an open contract, just in a different point of view. Anyway, I WISH it will be finished soon and it will give us a good result.

The bricklayer troop are working good, fast and on time. The only issue is on our end. The lower portions of the two long thin windows that we have, the terraces doors and the main entrance are still open or not yet installed with bricks.

Bricks Installation Day 1 (Klinker Montage Tag 1)

Before 8 am the bricklayers were already on the building site. They were building the scaffolding at the back side of the house. They were group of 5 bricklayers coming from the North.

Foamglas Perinsul (black bricks on the lower picture) is an innovative product developed by Pittsburgh Corning, to eliminate thermal bridges at joints within wall constructions.

At 9:30 am I brought them coffee and they were already starting the first layers of the foamglas Perinsul.

Good thing that we fetch the water equipment last Friday. They really need a lot of water for the mortar / concrete.

During lunch time, I checked there and this is how it looks now...

In the afternoon, I visited the building site again and this is now how it looks...

The picture below shows how the bricks are connected to our house wall.
