Hubby and I installed these Base Sealing almost two years ago. We thought that making it longer protects more the edges of the house. Actually it did. Unfortunately, we need to cut it out to 4 cm from the edge . It is because the wall plaster have no possibility to hold with the Base Sealing.

Base Sealing Ceresit BT 21
Hubby's dad and I scrapped the excess parts of the Base Sealing (Ceresit BT 21). We need to only have atleast 3 to 4 cm over the edges, so that our outside wall plaster will be done soon.

Base Sealing / Waterproofing Exterior Foundation Walls FINISHED! (Sockelabdichtung FERTIG!)
This day gives a lot of positive vibes. Our Base Sealing is at last FINISHED! Horaaahhhh!!!
Theoretically we can already send the postcard to ProHaus that we are ready for our klinker. But, we would like to make sure that we are indeed ready. Hubby still needs to do the faucet outside, the lighting cable should already be in place, as well as our ding-dong ha ha ha. After these things will be accomplish (hopefully next week), then we can send the postcard. I can't wait to see that our house is finally finished from the outside.

Base Sealing / Waterproofing Exterior Foundation Walls Part 4 (Sockelabdichtung Teil 4)
Base sealing or waterproofing of exterior foundation walls took a lot of time for us because of the weather. Since it is already winter, the weather is not really that cooperative. Today we finally finished the base sealing (atleast the BT 21). Hubby started and almost done with the styro on the sides.

Base Sealing / Waterproofing Exterior Foundation Walls Part 3 (Sockelabdichtung Teil 3)
We continued the unending waterproofing of the exterior foundation walls. This work depends on the day-to-day weather situation. And since the rainy season is still not finished (plus the temperature going to minus), we were not able to finish this job. Frustrating as it is, but that's how it is for now *sigh*.
Doing the base sealing is actually not hard, except for the corners. We need to make sure that the corners are totally closed and that no moisture problem will be possible to build there. In this case, we need to cut smaller pieces of BT 21 that perfectly fit on all the corners. In our house, we have 12 corners to work on. It is very important that the BT 21 serves its purpose. And that is, to keep our walls dry and moist free. Moisture damage or water damage on housewalls creates molds that is dangerous to health. Therefore, we really need to make sure that on this part, we will be patient enough to do it the right way.

Base Sealing / Waterproofing Exterior Foundation Walls Part 2 (Sockelabdichtung Teil 2)
After Kindergarten, I noticed that the weather today is sunny and not so cold. I checked on the building site and everything looks good except for one side of the house, which is still a little bit wet.
Anyway...I need to work on the opposite side so, I think it is ok. I want to do the BT21 on the corners of our two small long windows.
It was tough and not easy since when the BT21 is attached, you cannot pull it out again. Working on corners while standing on a scaffold is challenging specially if it is not perfectly build on your height ;) But atleast... I was able to finish it before going back again to Kindergarten at noon time.

Base Sealing / Waterproofing Exterior Foundation Walls Failed
I went to the building site this morning to cut the BT 21 for all the corners. We were planning to do it this afternoon, but to no avail... it rained again (as usual) :(

Base Sealing / Waterproofing Exterior Foundation Walls Part 1 (Sockelabdichtung Teil 1)
The weather is not that cooperative. It is raining. When doing the waterproofing of the exterior foundation walls, the weather should be dry. One afternoon, it was dry so we started it, but since we were out-of-time, we were not able to finish it. I hope we will be able to accomplish it before he gets back to work.

Preparing for the Base Sealing (Sockelabdichtung)
Today the weather is cold but dry. Hubby work on the preparation of the base sealing (sockelabdichtung). Before starting to paint the BT 26 and pasting the BT 21, the important parts should be cleaned with no holes open on it.
I also contacted the companies E-ON Mitte for our electricity and gas installation. Unfortunately, until now we did not get any update when should it be. The water company will visit on Friday since we decided to do the excavation directly from them and not from an independent company.
When I visit the building site, hubby already started the painting of BT 26. Here are some pictures...
