Kitchen is Here.

November... I so happy to receive the confirmation that our kitchen will be delivered in the middle of December. I cannot wait for that day. I thought... "Maybe we will move-in before the year ends". Let us see.

During the kitchen delivery and installation, I was not there. I was at work. But hubby was there and was able to check that everything will be fine.

The kitchen delivery and installation took a day and a half. It was nice to see that the kitchen is there. I was so happy. Too bad that the happiness is too short. On the second day, they said that there is a mistake on the ordered parts of the kitchen. They were not able to order our counter. And it will took 4-6 weeks before they will be able to deliver and install it.

Our Kitchen is Almost Ready

Kitchen is the heart of the house. When it is installed, theoretically the Family can move in. It took sometime for us to decide about how we want our kitchen to be. I am happy to say that at this point, we are almost there.

We bought our Kitchen!

We achieve another milestone in our house building. Today we bought our Kitchen. We planned the kitchen for years already and we have been to around five different Kitchen Stores. We are almost there. The delivery schedule of our Kitchen will be before the year ends. I am very excited. I hope it will be like how we wish it would be. By the way, this will be my very first Kitchen in my life =)

Kitchen Company at the Building Site (Küchenberatung am Ort)

So, we are back again Kitchen Shopping. This time, it is not only just planning, sitting for hours and choosing these and that. We really need to sign a contract. So atleast when we moved-in, we have a place to cook our food =)

We have been to few Kitchen stores. We also received interesting quotations. But we would first like to have our floor screed ready. Now that the floor screed is almost ready, it is indeed the right time to finalized our Kitchen.

We already know what we want and we also know our kitchen plan. We want it simple, modern and practical. Practical for me means... every kitchen parts should be on the right place. For example, I do not want to empty the dishwasher while the cabinet for the plates, glasses, spoon and fork are too far away. I also like to have an eye-level Oven, so I do not need to bend down whenever I use it.

Today we have a schedule for a Kitchen Consultant at the building site. For the past three schedules, we were the ones who visited the Kitchen Stores.

Hubby planked the kitchen with wood-based panels.

Some part was left undone because our electrician needs to install electrical cables on it.

This past week, hubby had his vacation leave at work. We used the whole week to finish lots of building works in our house. Hubby and I started early in the morning to finish our goal at the building site.

Now, vacation week is over. We were happy to see that the groundfloor looks promising. We are hoping to have our floor screed before winter comes or at least before the year ends. There are still pile of works that needs to be done.

Insulation Material Installation Kitchen Walls (Dämmung Installation Küche)

After the electrical cables were in place, I was then able to re-install the insulation materials in our kitchen walls.

Electrical Cable Installation Kitchen (Elektroinstallation Küche)

Hubby started and finished the electrical cable installation in our kitchen this week. That was one big goal achieved (*Kudos to you, my love*). Because of that, he was as well able to close the walls with wood-based panels.

This part of the electrical cable installation was not easy in such a way, that we need to first decide how our kitchen should look like (Final Kitchen Plan) and where the sockets should be (sockets for the oven, stove, cooker hoods, dishwasher and other elektrical kitchen devices). It should all fit.

Water Company's Earth Excavation Partner's Visit (Wasseranschluss Tiefbauer Termin)

Today at 8:15 am, the earth excavation company partnered with the water company in our area visited the building site. We originally have a schedule of main water supply installation on Monday. After today's visit, they said that the scaffolding needs to be first dismantled so they can start digging. That is such a bad news. The scaffolding around our house was there since it was built. Originally it should have been dismantled early last month, but we never heard of any updates from ProHaus. We did not follow-up because the scaffolding is not bothering us at all. We were just waiting for the update of ProHaus when they wanted to dismantle the scaffolding.

The big question now is... if the scaffolding will be dismantled by monday. I will try to contact them tomorrow.

This morning after their visit, we drove to another kitchen store. We were again on this situation where they would like us to sign the contract right away. But that did not happen. Buying a kitchen is not so easy, and we are not in a hurry to sign a contract. We need to consider a lot of things, such as the kind of kitchen appliances we want and need. So, they made another schedule for us.

This afternoon we also got a call from our roofer that he will be coming tomorrow to install our Air-Exhaust-System or LAS (Luft-Abgas-System) in german.

Sounds like we have something really accomplished this week huh? I hope so. I really love seeing sign of progress in our house project.

Kitchen Shopping (Küchenplanung)

Last Saturday we went to kitchen stores to check on our future kitchen. We thought we can already have a talk with a kitchen sales person. Unfortunately, it was so full, that we only got a schedule... and that is today, Monday.

We arrived on the kitchen store and plan our future kitchen with a sales person using a software on the computer and also physically checking-out how the things should look like. There are a lot of kitchen styles but we already know what we want. The only big question is, if it will remain on our budget.

Kitchen is normally one of the last things that we would like to buy for our dream house. It is because we have a lot of other priorities that need to be considered. On the other hand, we need to know NOW how our kitchen will look like, since we are starting to lay the electrical cables. We would like to know where should our sockets be. That is the reason why we checked for kitchen on this early stage.

The first schedule in planning our kitchen was good but expensive. The whole kitchen was originally costing 22,850€ whoaaaa! way too much for us. They have 60% discount for the kitchen and 30% for the electronics but still not the amount we were expecting. The sales person suggested to make another plan for us and we will stay in contact.

We will definitely check on other kitchen stores and we plan to have at least 4 quotations with the same plan.

I already tried to plan our kitchen using Ikea Kitchen Plan and also saw the amount of the whole things. I am just not sure how we will do it on the corner. So that means, we still need to visit Ikea. Maybe on the next days? :) Let's see.
