Drywall Installation Lobby Final (Rigips Installation Diele Finale)

Today one helper worked on the lobby part of our house. He installed the remaining drywall/plasterboard that we asked him to install and he also filled-in the plasterboard. Just a few plasterboard to install and our lobby area will be finish.

Hubby and his dad installed some drywall in our lobby and one wall of our wardrobe corner. The rest of the work will be done by a helper this coming Monday.

Hubby and his dad installed the drywall on other two sides of our living and dinning room. Now, it is looking better :)

After hubby's work, he arrived at the building site. Around  6:30 pm  hubby's dad, his sister and her sister's hubby arrived and helped us. We worked on the drywall installation in the living room for two hours.

After few hours of work, one wall of our living room is now white. It feels good to see that we are going forward.

On the two lower pictures, hubby and his sister's husband installed the two lower left portion of the drywall. The rest was done by hubby alone before.

Sanding Sanding Sanding (Schleifen Schleifen Schleifen)

Since hubby needs to work out-of-town, last Wednesday hubby's dad and I cleaned-up the building-site in the morning and in the afternoon hubby's dad worked on the second floor.

Yesterday morning, hubby's dad and I went to the building site --- I sanded the walls using a small machine and he did the next batch of filling paste on the walls and ceiling. In the afternoon, I went there for an hour to organize the ground floor and clean-up.

This morning, we (hubby's dad and I) worked again at the building site. Hubby's dad continued sanding using the bigger machine in the second floor. I continued installing the insulation materials on the ground floor. In between times, I also helped him sanding the walls.

Today the third room upstairs is almost finish. Drywall installation is finished except on the window side.

Hubby also finished the electric cable installation in the second floor.

The next room will be the bathroom. This might take a lot of time to be finish. Though the water pipes were installed, we still need to finalize our decision regarding the shower (what type of shower division and how big the shower will be, and etc.). On Saturday, our plumbing/heating specialist will visit the building site and check on the needed work to be done.

Meanwhile, hubby, hubby's dad and I are starting to work on the groundfloor. I thought working with insulation materials is already history. Unfortunately I am wrong =( I need to work with it again and again and again. We have some of it left and before we will close the ceiling of the living and dinning room, we decided to put some more insulation materials there. That is what I am going to do on the next few days waaaa...

Drywall Installation Bathroom Part 1 (Rigips Installation Bad Teil 1)

Hubby and his dad started to install the drywall in our bathroom. There are still a lot to do.

Second Room is Finished!

It has been awhile since I was able to update our Baublog. As of last Saturday, the second room in our house is finished. Pat-on-the-back for hubby!. He and his dad installed the support beam of the ceiling substructure and finished the whole drywall installation. I on the other hand, installed the Vapor Retarder.

Hubby's dad and I worked at the building site this morning. We continued the drywall installation that was started last week. It's almost finished... only one wall to go.

Hubby took one week vacation leave to work on our house. We (hubby's dad, hubby and I), worked together most of the days during this week. Good thing that the weather cooperated and it remained mostly sunny and warm. Therefore, our kids with their grandma played in the garden.

Our goal is to see progress on this house project. There are still a lot of things need to be done. I cannot even imagine the possibility to moved-in this year. Anyway, there is no rush... and our goal still remain --- moving-in this year.

This week, we were able to almost finished one children's room. It really looks good and it feels good to see one room almost done.
