Vapor Retarder Installation Guest Toilet and Lobby Tape Up (Dampfbremsefolie Installation Gäste WC und Diele Verkleben)

Today I was able to finish taping-up the vapor retarder in our office room, guest toilet and the remaining part of the lobby. It took me the whole morning to finish it.  It is because there were parts where it is not that easy to make sure that there's no hole on it (like for example, where the cables are passing-thru as well as the corners of each room).

I am happy though that I was able to do a lot this week and the whole house is now BLUE (because of vapor retarder). Hopefully it will soon be WHITE (drywall).

From the last picture above, I didn't close one corner of this room yet, because hubby still needs to check on the cables running-thru it.

Today I was able to install the vapor retarder in our Guest Toilet and the remaining part on the lobby.

Today I was able to finished the installation of insulation materials in the whole house (except for the attic area). That part is not crucial for finishing the house :)

Since the insulation materials were all done, I was able to install the vapor retarder at the Office Room. It was tough to install it smoothly due to the heavy weight of the insulation materials. But it will look different as soon as the ceiling substructure will be installed.

Vapor Retarder Installation Kitchen (Dampfbremsefolie Installation Küche)

I started installing the vapor retarder on the kitchen walls last Thurday. I finished it today, and started installing on the ceiling.

I will continue and finish it tomorrow. Though the last portion of the ceiling will not be done yet. I still need to install the insulation materials, the electrician needs to install an important cable and hubby needs to close the walls.

This morning, I finished the last vapor retarder installation in our living room's wall, while hubby continued to do the rigips on the dinning area. In the afternon, I was able to mark the sockets, switches and clean-up the building site.

We need to finish the ceiling of the kitchen, office room and the WC soon, so at least we will have our floor screed in the very near future =) Unfortunately, we are waiting for the plumbing people to double check the stability of the water pipes (there should be NO LEAKS), before we can close the ceiling of the office room and WC. With regards to the kitchen, hubby still needs to lay some cables for sockets, switches and lights.

Vapor Retarder Installation Living Room Continuation (Dampfbremsefolie Installation Wohnzimmer Weiter)

Early morning I went to the building site, before hubby and his dad starts to work. I would like to finish the vapor retarder on the other side of the terrace window, so at least if they decided to finish the walls, it is now ready. After that, I went back home to stay with my kids.

I was able to have my afternoon time at the building site. Hubby works 'til 5 pm and the kids were at my in-laws' garden with their cousin. I thought about finishing the installation of the vapor retarder in the living room.

This morning I was able to finish installing the vapor retarder (ceiling and wall) in between our living room and dinning room.

In the afternoon, hubby and I worked together at the building site. He closed the last inner walls in our living room. It is showing progress in the groundfloor. We hope that we will be able to install the rigips atleast this coming weekend.

Today, I worked the whole day to double the ceiling insulation in our dinning room and lobby. After that, I was then able to finally install the vapor retarder. As suggested by ProHaus, we just need insulation material of 100 for the ceiling, except on the part near our walls (in the whole house) which should be in 240. But since we have extra insulation materials, we then decided to double it.

After installing the vapor retarder, now the dinning room and lobby looks blue!!! Something new in our ground floor. Unfortunately, hubby's vacation is over... therefore we need to wait for the weekend to install the ceiling substructure.

At last the corner of the bathroom with lots of pipes coming thru and cables from attic to the basement is now finish. I started to install the vapor retarder this morning, while hubby was working on our pantry. This is the final vapor retarder installation on this room. That means, the whole second floor is finish with insulation materials and vapor retarder.

This afternoon, hubby finished the pantry and I finished the vapor retarder installation in the bathroom.

This week, hubby and I finished the installation of the vapor retarder in our Children's Room 2.

Yesterday night hubby and I worked on the building site and tried to continue the vapor retarder installation in the Children's Room 2. This time at last one room is done :)

This morning, I finished adding the tape. This is important because as per se' holes should all be closed in order to avoid future problems. I hope that we will be able to do the rest of the rooms in the next days or at least this weekend.

Yesterday night we started the installation of the vapor retarder in one of the rooms upstairs. Since this is our first time to do it, we planned to install it as a whole. Unfortunately, it did not work. It was too heavy and to complicated to open the whole folded vapor retarder. To avoid destructions or making holes in the vapor retarder, we then decided to cut it into smaller length and then install it.
