Hubby is still out-of-town but our Electrician would like to work at the building site before he will have his family vacation. He arrived at around 5 pm and worked for at least 3 hours. He finalized the electricity from the second floor going to the ground floor. He also connected the big cable from the ground floor to the basement.

Electric Installation (Elektro Installation)
Electric installation is one of the most time-consuming work in our house. Hubby is doing all the cabling. I am documenting where the cables pass-thru and we are both deciding where the sockets, switch etc. should be. We also hired an Electrician who is once in awhile at the building site to help, as well as to give his professional suggestions.
It is not easy, since we really need to think about all the possible needs for switches and sockets. For instance, how many switches/sockets do we need in each room, in the bathroom, in our living and dinning room and of course in the kitchen. Electric plans is so connected to how we would like the room to be designed or arranged. For example, we need to have a final plan for kitchen in order to know where the sockets will be installed. We also need to know if we want to use spots instead of simple ceiling lamp.
Today, hubby continued to work on cables and the Electrician worked on finalizing and checking if all the sockets in our second floor works fine.

Wiring the Doorbell (Loch/kabel für Klingeltaster)
Before our bricks arrive, there are some pre-requisites that we would like to accomplish. For example, the electric cables for the lamps in the terrace and carport side, the sockets outside and the wiring for the doorbell. These things should be ready before the bricks arrive.
This is the view of the cables from the outside terrace door. The upper portion are for the lamps and the lower right is intended for outside socket.
For the doorbell, they said the norm high for the hole is about 130 to 160 cm from the foot line of the door. We decided to make the hole to 140 cm.

Vacation is Over!
Three weeks vacation is over. Hubby worked the whole three weeks in the house.
Last Saturday, we learned that the earth cable that was already installed from the power box to basement is wrong. So frustrating. Until now we still do not have power in the house except for the temporary building site power box. We planned to return this box in the month of January but with this issue, we cannot do that. I hope this issue will be resolved soon.
This morning, I continued the inner wall insulation. There are not a lot anymore, but these are the parts where I need to cut a lot of small pieces to fit. Therefore it took the whole morning to finish it. The only inner wall that is not yet insulated (in the whole house) is that of the Toilet in the first floor (Guest WC).

Electrical Control Box Installation (Elektroverteiler Installation)
Today hubby installed the electrical control box in the ground floor. Now, all it needs are the cables to be inside of that control box and then one big cable to go directly to our utility room that is located in the basement.

Electrical Meter Box Cabinet Installation (Zählerkasten Installation)
Yesterday afternoon the Electrician mentioned that he might pass-by the building site. Hubby went there to do some work and wait for him at the same time. Unfortunately the Electrician did not arrive. Anyway, he said maybe.
After hubby was done with his work on the building site, he tried to installed the electrical meter box cabinet on his own. I would say, he did a good job. Thumbs up, mein Schatz!!! :)

Earth Cable from Power Box to the Basement
In the afternoon, Electric Company Gundlach called and mentioned they are going to check on the building site power as well as putting the earth cable from the Power Box made by E-ON to our basement. I went directly to the building site to meet the person from Gundlach.
I helped him pull the earth cable since it was not possible to do it with one person. He was on the basement pushing the earth cable out, and I was outside waiting for the site of the earth cable. As soon as it was there, I was able to pull a meter or so.. and then Gundlach went out to pull the rest.
