Compair Flow Star Installation (Compair Flow Star Mauerkasten Einbauen)

This afternoon, hubby and FIL worked on the installation of the Compair Flow Star for our exhaust hood. This is pre-requisite for the bricks installation. I hope it will be fine or at least it will not give issues when they're making the hole. I personally prefer this the air extrator system (Abluft) than the air circulation system (Umluft), for our kitchen.

The pictures below are just shots from the installation of wall conduct of Compair Flow Star. The rest will follow as soon as the bricks are finished.

Bricks just arrived! (Unser Klinker ist da!)

This morning FIL and I went to the water company and rented an equipment that we will use in order to be able to get water from the streets. We need to pay a lot for that. This should have been avoided if the water company Hr. F was professional enough to accomodate our request. It has been 5 months ago since we applied for our water installation gosh!!!! It is indeed so frustrating. Anyway, there's nothing more we can do but to be prepared for our bricks installation.

We arrived back home at around 11:15 am and passed-by the building site. SURPRISE!!! The bricks were already there. I feel so excited! I've been waiting for this moment since our house was built. Here are some pics...

In the afternoon, one of the workers who will install the bricks was also on the building site in the afternoon. He mentioned that they will start at 8 am on Monday and they will not be able to finish it in a week. I wish, hope and pray that the weather will cooperate... at least not raining so hard.

Vapor Retarder Installation Room 2-1 (Dampfbremse anbringen Zimmer 2-1)

Yesterday night we started the installation of the vapor retarder in one of the rooms upstairs. Since this is our first time to do it, we planned to install it as a whole. Unfortunately, it did not work. It was too heavy and to complicated to open the whole folded vapor retarder. To avoid destructions or making holes in the vapor retarder, we then decided to cut it into smaller length and then install it.

No Date for Water Installation (Hausanschluss Wasser)

I called as early as 7:30 am to the water company here in our end. I followed-up for the water installation that we applied since September 2013. They had so many building site visits done in our end but still we do not have a fix water installation date. I understand that during winter time, it is not that easy to install it, but what I cannot understand is that, they are always excuses for this installation to not go thru. Maybe I am just frustrated but we really need water in the building site specially that our bricks will arrive (as planned) on Monday.

I am still hoping that something will happen this week but it is already Tuesday :(

Update as of Wed --- I called the earthworks company that is partnered with the water company here in our end, since we are not receiving any update from the water company. They mentioned that they do not have any supplies of asphalt to close the supposedly open hole in the street until March 1st. They can still continue the digging but then if the holes will not be closed right away, it's gonna be dirty in our neighborhood. This is frustrating... just really soooooo frustrating :(

Wiring the Doorbell (Loch/kabel für Klingeltaster)

Before our bricks arrive, there are some pre-requisites that we would like to accomplish. For example, the electric cables for the lamps in the terrace and carport side, the sockets outside and the wiring for the doorbell. These things should be ready before the bricks arrive.

For the doorbell, they said the norm high for the hole is about 130 to 160 cm from the foot line of the door. We decided to make the hole to 140 cm.

View from the outside

This is the view of the cables from the outside terrace door. The upper portion are for the lamps and the lower right is intended for outside socket.

Our Bricks will soon arrive yipee! (Unsere Klinker können kommen!)

We received a call from the company who will install our bricks. They gave us a tentative schedule of 17 and we are just so excited for it. If the weather will cooperate on those days then they will pursue the schedule. The bricks should be delivered end of next week. I can't wait to see our house finished from the outside... naja... almost :)

Vacation is Over!

Three weeks vacation is over. Hubby worked the whole three weeks in the house.

Last Saturday, we learned that the earth cable that was already installed from the power box to basement is wrong. So frustrating. Until now we still do not have power in the house except for the temporary building site power box. We planned to return this box in the month of January but with this issue, we cannot do that. I hope this issue will be resolved soon.

This morning, I continued the inner wall insulation. There are not a lot anymore, but these are the parts where I need to cut a lot of small pieces to fit. Therefore it took the whole morning to finish it. The only inner wall that is not yet insulated (in the whole house) is that of the Toilet in the first floor (Guest WC).
