Backhoe Arrived! Soil Excavation Day 1 (Erdarbeiten Tag 1)

At exactly 7:00 am, the backhoe arrived and immediately started the job. Hubby was already on the building plot this early, although he arrived home late last night due to work. My poor mahal :(
I was not able to join him this early morning bcoz I have two lil patients.

Around 9:45 am, I was able to get few minutes and went to the building plot and took few pictures.

After lunch, this is how it looks like...

Basement Schedule and Closing of the Street

Yesterday was again one of those stressful days, where I need to call a lot of people regarding the project of building our dream house.

Result:

- We got the basement schedule, and that is Tue and Wed next week.
- We need to ask the City Hall for the streets to be closed on that time, since the big trucks needs space for that.
- We got the schedule this week to meet the Lawyer for processing important papers.
- We already informed the Banks about the needed documents.
- There are still a lot of important e-mails that are not yet answered :(
- Our on-site electricity is now in-process (hopefully it will arrive on-time).
- The scheduled detailed marking-out of the lot(Fine-absteckung) is already mentioned to our Surveyor.
- Contacted the Finance Department of ProHaus Herr D., about our needed documents. He said, we will receive it this week (I hope so!).
- and the list go on...

It is a tough week for us, and the weather is not cooperating :( Our dream is starting to happen. Tomorrow is our scheduled earth works (Erdarbeiten). The basement building schedule is fix. We are asking for the street to-be-closed. I cannot wait to document it with pictures. This is only the start of tons of works for hubby and I. Our house project will maybe take years to be finished.

Patience is a virtue.

Building Permit (Baugenehmigung)

Early morning at 6:32am we received bad news from City Hall's Engineers Office, Herr W. The message is: based on the law under the building permit application paragraph 56... if we did not receive any letter from the City Hall from the time we sent the application until a month is over, we can start to build. If we based it on the day we changed the application form, that means, we need to move the scheduled dates of building (for example the scheduled building of the basement next week).

For recap, we applied for the building permit last July. ProHaus Architect's Office prepared a wrong application form. Engineer from the Regional Office, Herr S, (who's in-charge of building permits in the area), was on vacation leave during the time our application arrived on their deparment. We waited for three weeks before we learned that we should have applied for building permit under paragraph 56 of HBO. A lot of time wasted *sigh*

We changed the application form to building permit under paragraph 56 last August 26. We completed the attached documents (papers that we sent to Engineer's Regional Office and was returned to us), last August 28.

It is very frustrating to encounter such situation. We just lost time bcoz of nothing. And to think... when building a house, time is not only gold, but it is also costing money :(

Update: Hubby went to the City Hall before directly driving to office just to fix this issue. Good that he did that. Now we learned that it is ok to continue. From City Hall's Engineer's Office, there is no problem about the application.

WIBank Loan Approval Arrived

Today the documents of WIBank loan approval arrived. We have been waiting for this since Tuesday, because they said they already sent it out last Monday. Unfortunately, it took a while until it reached us. It is already weekend, all we can do is to wait until the next working days for all our questions.

Another important document that we are still waiting is the Building Permit (Baugenehmigung). Our basement is scheduled to arrive in two-weeks and we still did not receive any response or letter from the City Hall. I hope next week will be more productive than this week.

We already applied for the on-site electricity (Baustromanschluss). I hope it will not be too late until it is assembled on the building plot.

We also heard from our earthwork company (Erdarbeiten) and the schedule of digging the building plot is this coming Wednesday. I hope the weather will cooperate. When we checked the weather report for next week, it says... RAIN is on its way.. I hope not. I am excited for this one. I guess, we will find a lot of big rocks under the ground. I just hope that the backhoe (bagger) is good enough for the job. And it will not costs us a lot.

On-site Electricity, Construction Water, Multi-use House Entrance System (Baustrom, Bauwasser, Mehrspartenhauseinführung etc.)

It has been again stressful about contacting people who will do the works that we need before the basement arrives. I need to check and call the people who are doing the on-site electricity, construction water, delivering the multi-use house entrance system and many more. Hubby is busy at work and he is also always on the road, thus, I need to get some quotations about it and then we can decide together. It is tough to be always on the phone, specially that I cannot speak perfect german yet and I have a toddler running around :)

We only have two weeks to make things in order. I hope everything will go with the plan.

Rough Marking Out (Grobabsteckung)

Our land surveyor arrived at 11:45 am today and made the rough marking-out of the building plot. It was fast and all we need to do is to double check on it.

Unfortunately, when hubby checked later this afternoon (after his work), the marking-out is not correct. The measurement from the street pathway to the house should only be 3.5 meter. Hubby was disappointed about it, so do I.

On the other hand, we are now at the phase that I call --- Paper-stress. We have a lot of paperworks to finish, double-check, fill-up and send out. I hope next week will be a better week (fingers crossed). There were no good news this week.
