Clean-Up (Aufräumen)

Starting to clean-up the basement. First work is to fix the big boxes. We plan to drive it to the garbage disposal area next week.

We should slowly clean-up our basement area, so hubby can start the electric installation, we can prepare for the installation of our under floor heating, and then if we have luck, we will have our floor screed before the winter season arrives.

Sunday, I finished packing the boxes and it is now really for transportation.

Painting the Canopy Foundation (Antrich Vordach Balken)

Hubby's dad painted today the canopy foundation of our house. The past few weeks were not dry, but the last few days were sunny.

Vapor Retarder Installation Living Room Windows (Dampfbremsefolie Installation Wohnzimmer Fenstern)

It was my first mornings that I was able to go to the building site without worrying about the kids. This is the second day that our youngest attended the Kindergarten. I then decided to do the vapor retarder installation on the lower portion of the windows.

Wall Sleeve for Exhaust Hood (Mauerkasten Installation)

Hubby installed the wall sleeve for our exhaust hood today.

Unending Insulation Material Installation (Dämmung Dämmung Dämmung)

I think this part of building the house will never be finished until all the walls are closed. There will always be a place where I need to put the insulation materials. Today, I doubled the insulation materials on the ceiling of our kitchen. Instead of the original 100 cm thick, I installed now 2 x 100.

I still cannot close both end parts of the ceiling. Hubby still needs to install electric cables for our kitchen's sockets and lighting. But before we will be able to finalize that, we need to decide the design and the manufacturer of our future kitchen.

Talking about kitchen, I actually have a dream kitchen planned online. But then again, we need to make sure that every small and single details, are practical and fitting on our kitchen floor plan. This kitchen should be and hopefully will be my most favorite part of the house. I wish I can have my dream kitchen.

Installation of the Sanitary Systems / Plumbing (Sanitärinstallation)

Start of the week --- the continuation and final installation of the sanitary systems.

The workers started their job in the beginning of the week. First day, our plumber was able to install the iBox in our bathroom, guest WC and basement bathroom. On the second day, they were able to have the water pressure test and it is good to know that all the pipes are tightly close (no leaks). On the third day, our heating specialist installed the heating distributors (Fußbodenheizungsverteiler), made a water pressure test on it and installed the provisionary toilet at the basement.

Power Outlet and Switches at the Ground Floor (Elecktroinstallation Steckdosen und Schalter in EG)

This week hubby continued the electric works at the ground floor area. As soon as he was able to make the holes, it is then my turn to take out the cables from the wall. Then, he can set-up the sockets and switches. Good thing that I documented where the sockets and switches are in a floor plan. It is then easy to mark on the wall. This is one way of making sure that when hubby makes the holes, he will not hit the cables and/or the timber.
