Base Sealing / Waterproofing Exterior Foundation Walls Part 1 (Sockelabdichtung Teil 1)

The weather is not that cooperative. It is raining. When doing the waterproofing of the exterior foundation walls, the weather should be dry. One afternoon, it was dry so we started it, but since we were out-of-time, we were not able to finish it. I hope we will be able to accomplish it before he gets back to work.

Here are the initial pictures..

Basement Windows' Installation

Today at exactly 8 am, the people from PREIS (Window and Door Company) were already in the building site. Hubby went there as soon as possible.

I visited the building site after Kindergarten. The PREIS people installed 3 windows in the basement. They were finished around 11 am. It brought different light when the windows were installed.

Here are some pics...

Preparing for the Base Sealing (Sockelabdichtung)

Today the weather is cold but dry. Hubby work on the preparation of the base sealing (sockelabdichtung). Before starting to paint the BT 26 and pasting the BT 21, the important parts should be cleaned with no holes open on it.

I also contacted the companies E-ON Mitte for our electricity and gas installation. Unfortunately, until now we did not get any update when should it be. The water company will visit on Friday since we decided to do the excavation directly from them and not from an independent company.

When I visit the building site, hubby already started the painting of BT 26. Here are some pictures...

Our Very First Yellow Bag Garbage

Today we put some yellow bags outside of our house.

We sorted-out some waste materials that are part of the yellow bag. They are usually plastics and the like. The city fetch these type of garbage once in a month. We actually have tons of them thus we need to drive it away soon. They are mostly plastics from cover of the materials we received for the house.

This is the picture of our first garbage taken by the garbage truck :)

Wall/Ceiling Insulation Part 1 (Dämmung Teil 1)

Yesterday and today, hubby and I worked on the buiding site --- project wall insulation. We worked for the whole day until the sun is down. Our two kiddos were with their Grandparents. The wall insulation materials really looks so puffy when opened. We started to work on the walls from the EG to DG. We plan to do the ceiling insulation next.

Here are some pictures...

Working on the House Continues (Filling, sanding and painting the wooden parts Part 1)

Today it says the weather is dry but already cold. Early morning, hubby and Fil went to the building site to do some work. I'd love to help, but as usual, I cannot leave my two kids alone with Mil.

They will first do the preparation and painting of the ceiling side portion of the roof. This is important to accomplish when the weather is dry (That is today. Tomorrow it will rain again). This is ideal to do since the scaffolding is still around the house. We were informed that it will be dismantled on the 47th week (starting 18 of November). We hope that before it will be gone, our solar panels are already on the roof and the painting is already done.

I will visit the building site later after the kids are awake from their afternoon nap, and will take some pictures.

And another thing, yesterday at 2 pm the person in-charge to check on the house from our Finance entity arrived. It was only a short visit and he just took few photos and then done.
