Installing the Noppenbahn

Today after late delivery from Bausep, we received the Noppenbahn Dübel. The weather this morning was good so in the afternoon, hubby, I and Grandpa helped each other to put in the Noppenbahn. Later, a good friend of hubby, Kai, also arrived to help. By that time, I went home already to check on the kids with Grandma. As usual, I am not on the pics since I am the photographer :)

Even it was raining, we are still working on our dreamhouse :)

Gussek und Wolts Kellerbau - Fast Service!

As mentioned on my previous post, I just called Herr Z. this morning and then in the afternoon, someone from their company was already on the building site. To think that their company is located 350 km, about 3 1/2 hours drive, they were fast to response on our need. Up to this point, we are very satisfied with Gussek und Wolts Kellerbau, the sister company of ProHaus.

Schedules! Schedules! Schedules! (Termine! Termine! Termine!)

Today we received the letter from ProHaus about schedules schedules schedules! Whew! Now, we have an issue, because hubby has one week out-of-town project on the dates mentioned. Therefore, we need to contact ProHaus to ask them if the delivery of the materials is possible a week later. The schedule of building the house is ok with us, though hubby is again not here, but atleast he can check on it on the last day (I hope).

Hubby also tried the basement windows and it don't fit :(

Update: I called ProHaus today (14.10) and Ms. A. said that she will try to change the delivery schedule, and we will receive a new letter for that. I was also able to contact Herr Z. of Gussek for the issues of our basement windows' frame. He said, they will remove the frame and fix the small issues on the basement ceiling this week. Surprisingly, when hubby arrived this afternoon around 3 pm, he said, Gussek is in the building site to illiminate the windows' frame and repair basement ceilings . That was really FAST!

Building Date Set

This afternoon at around 4 PM, Herr H. of ProHaus called and informed us that we have the fix date. It will be on the 43rd calendar week. That is in less than two weeks... whoaaa... we still have a lot to do. Though I was following-up for this date, honestly, I was surprise to know that it will be in less than two weeks. Two days ago, we mentioned to our Soil Excavator company that the house will arrive in four weeks. Now, I called them informing that the schedule changed. We need to finish the remaining works earlier than planned.

Hubby is today on out-of-town project and he bought the basement windows on his way home. I wish the windows fit, so at least on that part, we are done. As I mentioned before, we took out the basement windows from our contract because it is not a tilt-and-turn window. When our basement was built, we noticed that the basement windows' hole has an inside frame. It means, our window that is normally measuring 100 cm x 50 cm is now 97 cm x 47 cm. I guess that would be a problem if we will install the windows that we plan to have. Let us see how will it be tomorrow.

Meeting the Power, Water and Earth Companies (EON-Mitte, ZMW und Hainmüller Erdbau Ortstermin)

This afternoon is the scheduled meeting for the Power Company and the Water Company. They need to check how the power, gas, telecom and water be installed in our basement.

We also have a scheduled meeting with our Soil Excavation Company (Hainmüller Erdbau), and talk about how the pit should be filled-up.

Since yesterday, hubby and fil continue to work on the perimeter insulation. I'd love to help but, I cannot leave my kids alone with mil since she is still not physically fit.

Update about the meeting: It was not good.

We planned to have the multi-use house entrance system (mehrspartenhauseinführung). It is a system where we just need to have one hole for all the house installations (ex. power, gas, water, telecom and cable) to get thru the basement. Unfortunately, EON-Mitte and ZMW (power, gas and water companies in our area) did not agree on it *sigh*

Aside from that, the water company said that they need to make a hole on the other wall of the basement utility room. The measurement on the original plan, (the wall where the power, gas and cable should be installed) did not fit to their requirements. They said that, it is too near to the open portion (the Light Shaft / Light Well), and therefore, there is a big possibility for the water pipe to be frozen during winter season. That was not planned, it will costs more than we expected therefore, we are not happy about it :(

The result of the conversations:

- the pit should be first filled-up.

- the house should first arrive.

- and then, they can start the work. 

In the meantime, we can use the site power and site water for building the house.

Update (10.10) After this meeting, we directly contacted our Architect regarding the new position proposed by ZMW for our water installation. This is a big issue for us at the moment, since this is not how we planned it, and this action will give us more cost. 

I read on the internet thru Gelsenwasser - "Frost Protection: Due to the danger of frost, the water pipe should have at least a coverage of 90 cm for the house entrance, and a lateral distance of 80 cm to the light shafts or light well provided. The connection area must be kept free of frost." We will check again on the basement utility room regarding this location. I guess this should work.

Foundation/Structural Architect's Report or Acceptance Report (Abnahmebericht Gründung)

We have a meeting with Architect G. today at around 1 PM for the inspection of the basement. 

The acceptance report is prerequisite for the construction of the house. It is checked if the basement has the correct dimensions and whether the height differences are within the permissible tolerance range. Furthermore, all the remaining conditions are also checked like whether the pit is filled correctly (which on our case is not yet done, but soon), the site power or electricity is available, the water-on-site is available, if there is enough space for the crane and the frame is available, etc. etc.

The inspection took only 45 min all-in-all including the signing of papers. As far as the inspection of the keller is concern, as well as the things needed for building the house, everything's OK. That is good to know.
