Gallery Day 1 (Galerie Tag 1)

Today's work schedule is the Galerie part of the house. This is not easy due to its height. It is the open part of the hallway and exactly on the stairways. If we rent scaffolding, it will costs us almost the same amount as requesting someone to do it for us. Therefore, we decided the latter. We requested other people to work on this part, but we are not really satisfied of the result of Day 1. In my opinion, hubby's work is far way too organized and proper =) But I guess that's how it is...building a house is never easy and will never be zero error.

This is how it looks like at the end of the day. We were not happy about the vapor retarder because the 20 cm  overlapping was not followed and there were some holes ignored.

Drywall Sanding (Rigips Gipskartonplattenspachteln, schleifen und grundieren)

Hubby's dad worked on drywall sanding for two afternoons. He finished the ceiling parts of one of the rooms. It looks more spaceous and it looks really good.

Second Room is Finished!

It has been awhile since I was able to update our Baublog. As of last Saturday, the second room in our house is finished. Pat-on-the-back for hubby!. He and his dad installed the support beam of the ceiling substructure and finished the whole drywall installation. I on the other hand, installed the Vapor Retarder.

Another day to work on the building site. One of the things that I can do to help in the building site is to install the Vapor Retarder. Today, I'm working on our pantry :)

Today I got a chance to work on the building site. I continue to install the Vapor Retarder on our third room.

I continued the installation of the vapor retarder on the small part of the ceiling, until the room is finished. I made sure that there are no holes on it.

 On the pic above, I was not finished with the tape on the sides yet.

Since working on the vapor retarder is connected to the next room, I also installed it on the Room 3.

Today I continued to install the vapor retarder on the walls, so at least hubby and I can continue to do the ceiling part this weekend.

Continue Working on one of the Kids' Room

Hubby and I continued to work on the Kids' Room. He continued planking the walls with wood-based panels. And I made sure that the vapor retarder has no holes on it.

After lunch today, two of hubby's friends offered to help with house building. They worked on one of the Kids' Room. They continued installing the Vapor Retarder, as well as installing the support beam of the ceiling substructure. And they started installing the drywall installtion.

In the afternoon, I grilled sausages for them. This is the first time that we grilled in perimeter of our own place. On the pic below, the sausages were not yet finished =)
