Photovoltaic System (Photovoltaik Anlage)

Hubby and I decided to have a Photovoltaic System in our roof.

At first, I was just scared that it will give us problems instead of making us feeling secured. House building was indeed full of stress, specially in terms of things that are not happening how you want it. We already encountered issues with our plumbing and heating systems. It made our house building longer than expected.

Getting back to the Photovoltaic System, hubby and I were already at the building site early in the morning. First came the roofers. They brought high ladders and I can hear only bang klang and sounds of screwing things on our roof. That made me frown. I said to myself... "oh oh here comes the problem". It took them an hour and a half to install the clip to hold the Photovoltaic Modules. Short before 12 noon, the Photovoltaic Modules and materials arrived. The whole installation was finished at 3 PM. Then the electrician came to finish the job.

For the finish view, here are some pics...

One Year Anniversary of our House! (Unser Haus ist ein Jahr Alt)

Same day last year when the first wall of our dream house was built. It took the workers few days to finish it.

It was the same day last year when we felt so proud to say that we are building our family dream house.

It is already one year... and we are still building it. We are even not near to finishing it. We still have a lot of things to accomplish, since we decided to do everything from the inside. For the record, the most credit goes to my superman husband who does the most building works in our house. On the other hand, his dad and I are always here for him to help.

We wish, that before the year ends, we will already have our floor screed.

This is the update of our house from the outside, after a year.

Never Ending Work at the Building Site

Hubby and his dad worked hard on the building site and were able to close ALMOST all the walls with plasterboard.

Our Bathtub was Delivered! (Unser Badewanne ist da!)

I was excited to receive the call of the courier. They said, our bathtub will be delivered in our house (building site) in 10 minutes. Good that hubby, hubby's dad  and I were at the building site (working). It was almost 12 noon.

Hubby and his dad carried it inside and temporarily set it at the kitchen area.

Update Update

It has been awhile since the last update on this blog.

We are now on the Autumn season and the weather is not so good. That means, flu is just around the corner =(

These are the updates for the last two weeks...

Hubby's Dad finished the case of one of our ventilation pipe, located in our pantry.

Finally, the last wood-based panel in our kitchen was installed. It took awhile because of the electric cables that needed to be fix on that wall.

I was able to install the last vapor retarder in our kitchen ceiling. On the first picture below, it still needs to be finalized and taped with Eurasol.

First batch of the ceiling substructure in our kitchen.

Ceiling substructure is now installed.

Hubby installed the drywall.

Hubby installed the last piece of the drywall in our kitchen. At last, our living, dinning, kitchen and pantry's wall were all finished.

Hubby installed the wood-based panels in our Guest WC. It was not that easy since it needed to perfectly fit on those plumbing pipes.

Filling-in and Smoothing the Plasterboard (Verspachteln und Schleifen die Gipskartonplatten )

After finishing the application of the penetrating primer in our pantry this morning, I then started smoothing some walls in our groundfloor. When hubby's dad arrived, he continued installing the plasterboard in our chimney walls and I worked on filling-in the plasterboards in our living, dinning room and lobby.

Applying Penetrating Primer on the Walls (Anwendung Tiefgrund Lösemittelfrei auf die Wände)

Hubby's dad taught me how to apply the penetrating primer on the walls. I started doing it on the chimney located in our second floor. After that, I started to apply it on our pantry.

Remaining Insulation Materials (Dämmung)

I thought I was finished installating insulation materials. When we checked on our bathroom upstairs, our Guest Toilet and part of our Kitchen, I still need to install some of it. Ok... then... achooooo! (sneezzzz).

I also cleaned-up the whole place.

I wrote markings where the beams are, in preparation for hubby's ceiling substructure installation.

Weekend Building Site Work (Arbeit auf der Baustelle - Wochende)

Hubby worked mostly alone at the building site this weekend.

His dad helped him last Saturday to install the ceiling substructure and drywall at the lobby. Though the week was hard at hubby's work, he was still able to wake-up early Saturday to work in our house.

The rest of the work below were done by hubby alone. Aside from that, he also fix all the cables in our dinning and living room.

Vapor Retarder Installation Guest Toilet and Lobby Tape Up (Dampfbremsefolie Installation Gäste WC und Diele Verkleben)

Today I was able to finish taping-up the vapor retarder in our office room, guest toilet and the remaining part of the lobby. It took me the whole morning to finish it.  It is because there were parts where it is not that easy to make sure that there's no hole on it (like for example, where the cables are passing-thru as well as the corners of each room).

I am happy though that I was able to do a lot this week and the whole house is now BLUE (because of vapor retarder). Hopefully it will soon be WHITE (drywall).

From the last picture above, I didn't close one corner of this room yet, because hubby still needs to check on the cables running-thru it.

Vapor Retarder Installation Office Room (Dampfbremsefolie Installation Arbeitszimmer)

Today I was able to finished the installation of insulation materials in the whole house (except for the attic area). That part is not crucial for finishing the house :)

Since the insulation materials were all done, I was able to install the vapor retarder at the Office Room. It was tough to install it smoothly due to the heavy weight of the insulation materials. But it will look different as soon as the ceiling substructure will be installed.

Filling-up Chimney's Side with Cement

Hubby's dad filled-up the sides of the chimney with cement today.

He also installed the drywall in our kitchen window.

I was able to finish the vapor retarder installation today. I also installed the remaining insulation materials for the kitchen ceiling and walls. Aside from that, I also started doing the Office Room.

Hubby's dad already installed the drywall around our chimney on the second floor.

Vapor Retarder Installation Kitchen (Dampfbremsefolie Installation Küche)

I started installing the vapor retarder on the kitchen walls last Thurday. I finished it today, and started installing on the ceiling.

I will continue and finish it tomorrow. Though the last portion of the ceiling will not be done yet. I still need to install the insulation materials, the electrician needs to install an important cable and hubby needs to close the walls.
